Neste people understand the hazards related to our operations and have excellent ways to evaluate and manage risks.

Today is a big day for us at Neste. The European Chemical Industry Council, Cefic, awarded Neste 2019 Responsible Care Award of Sustainable Workplace. This award is truly earned by all our employees. It is a significant recognition for our systematic work for our safety performance and culture - knowing well that we need to earn our safe day again tomorrow.

Why is safety so important to us? Above all, there are huge and sometimes even immeasurable implications if safety is not taken care of. We all have a right to return home well and safe after the day at work. How then to secure safety? By providing solid systems, tools, rules and practises with a healthy mixture of mindset, behavior and safe actions. We all contribute to the safety, every day, with our own decisions and actions.

Safety has a high strategic importance to us as we see that all accidents can be avoided. It means excellence in risk management regardless of our roles at work. We dare to intervene and we do not allow any short cuts. It is about the existence and effectiveness of all safety barriers that help mitigate risks and prevent incidents.

We are determined to protect people and the environment as well as our operations, assets, information and brand from any harm. We believe that this can be achieved when everyone working for and with us is truly committed to manage and improve safety.

Neste people understand the hazards related to our operations and have excellent ways to evaluate and manage risks. Our purpose is to create a healthier planet for our children. That includes safe operations. We will earn our safe day again tomorrow, and days after that. Securing no harm, together.
