The City of San Diego wants to decrease their carbon footprint and switched to renewables
“This change will make a major part of our fleet greener overnight, creating more environmentally-friendly vehicles that are cheaper to maintain”, says Mayor Kelvin L. Faulconer, City of San Diego.
In the future the city’s vehicle fleet will use only waste and residue based renewable diesel. The switch to renewable fuels provides instant relief and helps the city to achieve its goals also in the long run.
“We are constantly looking for ways to make San Diego more sustainable and advancements in alternative fuels are making it possible”, says Alia Khouri, the City’s Fleet Operations Director.
