Fire on production line 4 at Neste Oil's Porvoo refinery

A fire broke out on the main diesel production line at Neste Oil's Porvoo refinery this morning. The fire, which started most likely from a leak from a heat exchanger, lasted a little over an hour, and the unit has been shut down for inspection and repairs. The extent of the damage is being investigated, and the initial estimation is that repair work will take a couple of weeks.

The fire did not result in any injury to personnel and did not pose a danger to anyone outside the immediate area. Fuel product deliveries will be unaffected.
