We are experts in developing and producing state-of-the-art renewable solutions to help decarbonize the world. Now we invite the experts in digitalization to help us bring our key sustainability system to the 21st century!

During the latest Slush event held in Finland last week, we invited all the sustainability-oriented digitalization experts interested in combating climate change and protecting human rights to join our multidisciplinary and collaborative development project.

The development project in question focuses on the digitalization of Neste's global Supplier Due Diligence System. The system we currently have functions rather efficiently but requires a lot of time-consuming manual work and handling of multitude of documents that are sent back and forth between Neste and its various raw material suppliers around the world.

Interested? Let us know!

So, if you feel that you have the required skills in IT, IM, coding, data visualization or digitalization, have innovative ideas to offer, and passion for sustainability issues, please send us an email to hackathon@neste.com by January 15th 2017 and we will send you more information.

The practical work will commence at the end January 2017. The exact date and venue for the first brainstorming session is yet to be determined.

What exactly are we after?

We have set some targets for the digitalization of Neste's Supplier Due Diligence System. The system should support fast and rigorous evaluation of potential raw material suppliers and help us in continuous monitoring of the current suppliers.

The digitalized system should help the suppliers submit information and evidence of progress related to their sustainability commitments, systems, and working practices, etc. It should also support the work of the independent sustainability experts who regularly audit the suppliers to verify the data collected during the due diligence process.

Our vision is that the system could offer a platform and tools for information visualization and direct collaboration between parties. Such features would enable quick grasping of the current status of all the suppliers globally, and help track the performance of a single supplier. The system could alert and enable immediate action if some areas of the supply chain requires it. Digitalization of the Supplier Due Diligence System could also enable extension of the information and collaboration network at customer interface.

What else could the system do for us and our supply chain? We need you and your vision to help us understand what we could achieve and how it should be done.

Please join us!
