Neste Jacobs to switch to a customer- and competence-based matrix business model 

Neste Jacobs is to reorganize its operations into three business areas and three competence centers, together with a business administration function. The new business model and organization will come into effect as of 1 January 2011 and will focus on the two most important cornerstones of the company's operations: its customers and its know-how.

"We're aiming to achieve higher cost efficiency and a much more customer-oriented approach capable of implementing our strategy effectively. Our new business model will be based on a strong matrix, designed to combine the best practices and know-how of our business areas and competence centers and generate true excellence in engineering. We believe this will give us the capability to provide a better service for our increasingly global customer base," says Jarmo Suominen, Neste Jacobs' Managing Director.

Neste Jacobs's Management Board will assist the Managing Director in leading the company and achieving the company's strategic and operative targets, and will comprise the  following personnel:

Jukka Hupanen, Vice President, Business Area Petrochemicals
Kari Kaskes, Vice President, Business Area Emerging Industries
Jan Wahlström, Vice President, Competence Center Technology and Processes
Samuli Kyttälä, Vice President, Competence Center Project Management
Risto Takkala, Head of Finance & ICT
Tom Främling, Vice President, Strategic Development
Outi Koskela, Head of HR (acting)
Kirsi Rintamäki, Head of HSSEQ

The vice presidents responsible for Business Area Oil & Gas and Competence Center Engineering will be appointed by 1 January 2011.
