Neste Oil is one of the corporate partners of the ‘Nuorten hyväksi’ (Let’s Help Young People) charity campaign being organized in Finland by the Tukikummit Foundation and the MTV3 television channel. The aim of the campaign, which has President of the Republic, Sauli Niinistö, as its patron, is to encourage people to make donations that will be used to improve the wellbeing of young people and promote debate and interest in the realities of young people’s lives today.
Neste Oil is contributing EUR 100,000 to the campaign, which will be channeled through a fund administered by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland and will go to activities and recipients that do not currently receive any other form of support. In addition to its financial contribution, Neste Oil will also be supporting the campaign by organizing a series of bold initiatives specifically dedicated to promoting young people’s wellbeing towards the end of this year and next year.
“Neste Oil is well-known for being a pioneer in cleaner traffic fuels,” explains Neste Oil’s President & CEO, Matti Lievonen. “Being a pioneer calls for courage and believing in yourself. Young people are critical for everybody’s future, and they need both courage and support to become the pioneers that society needs. We at Neste Oil want to do our bit through this campaign to help build the Finland of the future and a society in which young people are encouraged to believe in themselves and get the type of backing they need to live up to their potential.”
The ‘Let’s Help Young People’ campaign was kicked off on Tuesday, 27 November with a special Christmas collection organized in the center of Helsinki. Neste Oil’s Matti Lievonen, together with a number of other Neste Oil personnel, took a prominent part in the collection.
