Neste Oil expanding its presence in Northwest Russia

Neste Oil has further strengthened its share of the retail market in Northwest Russia following the acquisition of four new service stations in the St. Petersburg region in November and the opening of three new outlets there earlier in the year.

The revamp of Neste Oil's service station network is also proceeding according to plan, and the station visuals and shops at 10 outlets have been revamped this year in line with Neste Oil's new retail concept. Including the new stations, Neste Oil now has a total of 61 service stations in Russia employing around 900 people. The expanded station network will further consolidate Neste Oil's position as one of the market leaders in the St. Petersburg region.

"Neste Oil's goal is to be one of the two largest station networks in all its selected markets, and we are now closer to achieving this in Northwest Russia as well," says Panu Kopra, Neste Oil's Vice President, Russian, Polish, and Baltic Operations.

"Our overall aim is to consolidate Neste Oil's position as one of the leading brands on the retail market in and around St. Petersburg," says Indrek Kaju, General Manager, Russian Operations at Neste St. Petersburg. "An extensive station network, together with our revamped retail concept and high standards of customer service, will be central to our long-term success."

Neste Oil launched its service station operations in the Baltic countries in the 1990s and opened its first station in St. Petersburg in 1991. The current network in Russia extends from the Finnish-Russian border all the way to Novgorod. The most distant station from Finland is located in Krestsy, between St. Petersburg and Moscow.
