Neste Oil included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

Neste Oil has been accepted into the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, which features over 300 companies from 24 countries that excel in their commitment to a more sustainable future.

Only four other Finnish companies are included in this edition of the DJSI World listing, which is published annually in September by Dow Jones Indexes, STOXX Limited, and the SAM Group.

“Neste Oil has been consistently committed to the environment for decades, and the news of our inclusion in the DJSI World listing is great recognition of the work we have done,” says Pekka Tuovinen, Neste Oil’s Vice President, HSE.

“Our products have regularly been at the front of the field in terms of their environmental performance, and the most recent example of this is our NExBTL Renewable Diesel.”

Neste Oil has been awarded ‘Best in Class’ recognition for its social accountability by the Norwegian banking group, Storebrand, included in Innovest’s Global 100 list of the world’s most responsible companies, and featured in the Ethibel Pioneer Investment Register.

The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index follows a best-in-class approach and highlights the sustainability leaders from industries on a global level. The annual review of the DJSI family is based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental, and social performance, and assesses issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate change, supply chain standards, and labor practices. Half of the assessment focuses on measuring general sustainability criteria, and half relates on industry-specific sustainability issues.

The results of the annual review will influence the investment decisions of asset managers in 15 countries who have licensed the DJSI family.
