Neste Oil proves a more popular ideal employer this year

Technical students in Finland recently ranked Neste Oil the country’s fifth-most popular ideal employer in a survey carried out by Universum. This was an improvement on last year’s survey, when Neste Oil was ranked seventh.

“The result is very encouraging for us and shows that Neste Oil is doing the right things in the right way,” says Senior Vice President, Human Resources Hannele Jakosuo-Jansson. “We value the views of students, the next generation of professionals in our industry, very highly.”

The study indicates that the high ranking given to international Finnish companies such as Neste Oil is based on a number of factors, such as strong market position and the opportunity they offer for people to experience international business first hand. Technical innovation and a future-driven mindset are also seen as important. Students particularly highlight the importance of challenging jobs, a strong work ethic, and stable, long-term employment in shaping their idea of an ideal employer. Greater priority was given in this year’s results to a fulfilling career.

Neste Oil was named the most interesting company in the energy sector in the survey, and received an ‘Industry Best’ award in recognition of this. Nearly 3,000 technical and natural science students took part in this year’s survey.
