Neste Oil recognized for its high standards of accountability

Neste Oil has been selected for the Global 100, a list of the world’s 100 most responsible companies, based on an analysis of 1,800 publicly traded companies by Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, and published in the January online edition of Business Week.

The companies included in the Global 100 are considered to have developed the best capabilities in their respective industries to manage environment, social, and governance risks, and to take advantage of new business opportunities in these areas. In addition to Neste Oil, two other companies from Finland are featured in the list, and one other oil company.

Innovest Strategic Value Advisors rates companies using Intangible Value Assessment (IVA) criteria, based on four main pillars: strategic governance, human capital, environment, and stakeholder capital. Ratings range from AAA to CCC, and all the companies included in the Global 100 are AAA-rated.

“Neste Oil’s strategy is very much environment-driven, and we are very pleased to have received this type of international recognition for our commitment and what we have achieved,” says Pekka Tuovinen, Neste Oil’s Vice President, HSE.

Innovest Strategic Value Advisors produces corporate and industry analyses focusing on the role of environmental issues in business operations, mainly for institutional investors.
