The Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs announced on 9 May that a Finnish couple abducted in Yemen at the end of December had been released. One of the Finns kidnapped, Leila Kaleva, is a Director in organizational development at Neste Oil. She was on vacation in Yemen at the time of the kidnapping.

“We’re extremely relieved and very happy that they have been released,” says Simo Honkanen, Neste Oil’s Senior Vice President, Sustainability and HSSE. “The families of those concerned have been very much in our minds throughout the kidnapping, and would like to thank the various officials involved for everything they have done to facilitate the release.”
