Neste Oil's new diesel to be used by the Neste Oil Rally organization
Neste Pro Diesel, due to come on to the market this fall in Finland, will be used by 49 cars of the Neste Oil Rally organization in advance of the fuel's official launch. Neste Pro Diesel is the first diesel fuel in the world to comply with the toughest specification drawn up by automotive manufacturers as part of the Worldwide Fuel Charter (WWFC). This year's Neste Oil Rally will be held between 1 and 4 August over sections extending from Jyväskylä in Central Finland to Lahti in Southern Finland, in line with last year's event.
"Neste Pro Diesel is far and way the best diesel fuel in terms of performance, which is why it is great to have the chance to use it in our vehicles during this year's rally," says Jarmo Mahonen, Managing Director of rally organizer, AKK Sports Oy. "We are very keen to highlight the importance of environmental issues in motor sports; and the good thing about Neste Pro Diesel in this respect is that not only does it reduce fuel consumption and improve engine performance, but it also reduces tailpipe and greenhouse gas emissions."
According to test results, using Neste Pro Diesel can reduce fuel consumption by up to 5% - depending on the vehicle, driving style, or driving conditions. The fuel also reduces tailpipe emissions and its excellent cold weather properties contribute to better reliability during the winter. In addition, Neste Pro Diesel's advanced composition helps keep engine oil cleaner for longer and improve overall vehicle performance. Thanks to the renewable component that it contains, Neste Pro Diesel will reduce a vehicle's greenhouse gas emission by 10-20%.
Neste Pro Diesel is produced at Neste Oil's Porvoo refinery and will be available at all Neste Oil's manned and unmanned service stations across Finland from September.
