No change to the earlier judgement on the 2001 oil spill at Naantali

The Turku Court of Appeal delivered its judgement on the oil spill that took place at Neste Oil’s Naantali refinery in December 2001, on 29 November 2006, and upheld the previous judgement in the case issued by the Turku District Court. The prosecutor had called for the company to be fined, the company’s employees that their fines be rescinded, and the company for its legal costs to be reimbursed. The Court of Appeal only agreed to the latter.

All those involved in the case – the prosecutor, four Neste Oil employees, and Neste Oil itself – had appealed the finding of the Turku District Court issued on 29 April 2005.
