Gasoline components
Neste produces traffic fuel components for use in its own products and for sale to other oil companies. Clean gasoline components include ETBE, MTBE, alkylate and reformate.
Improving the combustion of fuel and reducing harmful emissions
MTBE
Methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) is oxygenate that improves the combustion of fuel and reduces harmful emissions.
MTBE has helped several countries and continents to improve air quality and refiners to produce clean burning gasoline. Neste provides MTBE to European and Asian market.
ETBE
Ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE) is a high-quality, bioethanol-based gasoline component. Its benefits include low sulfur content, low aromatics content, low steam pressure and high octane number.
Alkylate
Alkylate is an excellent gasoline component used in automotive gasoline and small-engine gasoline.
Reformate
Reforming is one of the most important gasoline production processes in a refinery. Reforming increases the octane number of low-octane gasoline.
All components are produced at Porvoo refinery in Finland.
