Neste opens a new office in Australia

Neste Corporation, News, 18 March 2021

Neste has opened a new office in Melbourne, Australia. The office hosts Neste’s team focused on sourcing renewable raw materials, such as used cooking oil and waste animal fats, directly from suppliers in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

“We established our renewable raw material sourcing operations in Australia at the end of 2019, to be closer to our local partners and stakeholders,” said Stewart Waters, General Manager of Neste Australia. “The team has been working in a serviced office space and then working remotely due to Covid-19. Now we are very happy to create a permanent residence for Neste in Australia.”

Neste continues to expand its renewable raw material sourcing network across Australia to supplement its existing network on the east coast of Australia, including the regions around Melbourne and Brisbane.

Neste’s decision to strengthen its raw material sourcing in Australia supports Neste’s biggest investment project in history, the Singapore expansion project, increasing the company’s global production capacity of renewable products from the current 3.2 million tons annually to 4.5 million tons by early 2023.

“With the expanded refinery in Singapore, Neste will increase its production capacity for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel and also strengthen its capability to provide renewable solutions for the petrochemicals industry”, said Matti Lehmus, Executive Vice President, Renewables Platform from Neste.

Neste’s Melbourne office is located in the heart of the Melbourne central business district.
