Sustainability in action: Neste Oil participates in the "Operaatio lentävässä pyörätuolissa"

Neste Oil participated in the "Operaatio lentävä pyörätuoli" (operation: flying wheelchair) campaign this year as well, which organizes a trip to Rhodes in the spring for young people who have physical disabilities and multiple disabilities and who are in their final year at the Ruskeasuo special school in Helsinki.

In addition to donations obtained through the campaign, the Ruskeasuo pupils raised trip funding by arranging rummage sales, art exhibitions and concerts. Neste Oil did its part by donating the fuel for the Midsummer Eve 2011 flight implemented through the campaign, with the traditional Midnight Sun Airshow in Kauhava as the destination. The entire income from the flight from Helsinki to Kauhava was donated to the Ruskeasuo pupils' trip fund. In addition to Neste Oil, Finnair's commercial team and Finavia also contributed to implementing the flight.

The "Operaatio lentävä pyörätuoli" campaign has been organized since 1977, and pupils very much look forward to trips supported through the campaign income. Neste Oil is happy to be involved in providing young people with the opportunity to obtain valuable, unforgettable experiences.

The activities of the Ruskeasuo school give physically disabled children and teenagers the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and social resources so that they can find their own place in society in the best manner possible.
