Respecting human rights is an absolute requirement for everyone in our supply chain. We are committed to respecting human rights and workers' rights, and we demand the same from all of our suppliers.
Commitment is ensured already before being selected as a supplier
To ensure that human rights and workers' rights are respected, we carry out a due diligence audit of all companies before they are selected as suppliers. The suppliers' practices related to human rights, such as workers' rights, use of child labor, and forced labor, are reviewed in the audits.
Palm oil certification requirements demand respect for human rights
We have identified Southeast Asia, where we source palm oil, as the highest-risk region within our supply chain in terms of human rights. In addition to passing the due diligence, we require all of our palm oil suppliers to be members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).
Respect for human rights is included in the RSPO's principles and criteria to which the supplier commits themselves through their membership. As part of the certification process, third-party auditors review the procedures used by raw material suppliers in their operations, as well as their human rights performance.
