Neste in the US and Americas
We are committed to helping businesses and cities in the Americas fight climate change with renewable solutions.
We focus on delivering solutions to decarbonize the hard-to-abate sectors, such as road transportation, aviation, as well as polymers and chemicals
Our renewable products have been reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the Americas region since 2012
In 2023, our renewable products helped our customers to reduce their GHG emission 3.3* million tons in America. This is equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions generated by almost 440,000 homes per year**
We collect used cooking oil to be used as raw material in the production of our renewables through our subsidiary from over 80,000 locations across the nation
We employ almost 900 people in the Americas
When we first started doing business in the United States, our focus was on collecting crude oil by trucks from the Texas oil fields and selling gasoline across the U.S. West Coast.
By the 1990s, we knew better about the impact of fossil fuels on our planet, so something had to change. At the time, climate change was just an inconvenient truth and there was little demand for renewable energy. Despite this, we embarked on a journey to become a company that fights - not contributes to - climate change. Ever since the 1990s, Neste has been transforming from a regional oil refiner to becoming a global leader in renewable and circular solutions. Together with our partners and stakeholders, we work towards creating a healthier planet for our children with more sustainable solutions. We believe this is the driving force for future success.

Our activities in the US and Americas
Today, our Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ powers tens of thousands of heavy-duty trucks and other diesel powered equipment on- and off-road, ensuring people’s needs for convenience.
We were one of the first companies to bring renewable diesel to California, Oregon and Washington after these states adopted Clean Fuel Programs that are designed to decrease the carbon intensity of the transportation fuel pool and provide an increasing range of lower-carbon and renewable alternatives
In 2024, we opened our first Neste MY Renewable Diesel fueling stations in Washington and New Jersey respectively
Our Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™ is available at many large airports and fuels almost all of the major airlines in North America and many business aviation customers, helping them reduce greenhouse gas emissions from air travels. We are only getting started. We continue to deepen our efforts with partners to increase not only the availability, but also accessibility of renewable products to both existing and new markets. We are ready to continue boosting positive climate action and helping more cities and businesses reach climate goals.
We are not slowing down. Through our subsidiaries, we are constantly strengthening our raw materials sourcing platform to turn more waste and residues from the Americas region into renewable products.
