When we first started doing business in the United States, our focus was on collecting crude oil by trucks from the Texas oil fields and selling gasoline across the U.S. West Coast.

Ever since the 1990s, Neste has been transforming from a regional oil refiner to becoming a global leader in renewable and circular solutions.

• 2022 Formed a joint operation with Marathon Petroleum to produce renewable diesel in the U.S., becoming a global producer and supplier of renewable products

• 2023 Acquisition of cooking oil collection and aggregation business from Crimson Renewable Energy in the US

Our activities in the US and Americas

Today, our Neste Renewable Diesel powers tens of thousands of heavy-duty trucks and other diesel powered equipment on- and off-road, ensuring people’s needs for convenience.

We were one of the first companies to bring renewable diesel to California, Oregon and Washington after these states adopted Clean Fuel Programs. 

Our Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™ is available at many large airports and fuels almost all of the major airlines in North America and many business aviation customers, which can help reduce aviation industry’s GHG emissions*.

We are only getting started. We continue to deepen our efforts with partners to increase not only the availability, but also accessibility of renewable products to both existing and new markets. We are ready to continue boosting positive climate action and helping more cities and businesses reach climate goals.

We are not slowing down. Through our subsidiaries, we are constantly strengthening our raw materials sourcing platform to turn more waste and residues from the Americas region into renewable products.

While SAF and fossil jet fuel release similar amounts of CO2 during flight, SAF’s life cycle climate impact is smaller than fossil jet fuel’s. SAF is certified for commercial use and can currently be blended up to 50% with conventional jet fuel.}
