PFAD dashboard

Palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) is a processing residue derived from the refining of food-grade palm oil. PFAD is one of the many raw materials that Neste sources for the production of its renewable products. In accordance with our obligations as an Ordinary Member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) under Resolution GA15-6b, Neste publicly maintains and regularly updates data on the third-party supplying mills in its PFAD supply chain, and has been disclosing PFAD supply chain data in public since 2018. Neste updates the data bi-annually.

Neste’s PFAD supply chain is fully mapped to the third-party palm oil mills, and information of plantations supplying these mills is gathered from suppliers' public dashboards.

Neste expects all its PFAD suppliers to comply with applicable laws and meet the ethical standards outlined in Neste’s Supplier Code of Conduct. Similarly to other renewable raw materials that Neste sources for its production, also PFAD meets the sustainability and traceability criteria defined by the EU Renewable Energy Directive (EU RED III). Compliance is verified through certifications (e.g. International Sustainability and Carbon Certification, ISCC) or other methods defined by local authorities in our markets.

We engage with our PFAD suppliers to ensure that their operations and those of their supplying mills are in compliance with legal criteria and Neste’s sustainability policies and principles. Furthermore, we conduct environmental and social risk assessments for each supplying palm oil mill as part of our efforts to mitigate human rights and environmental risks.

Our PFAD supply chain July – December 2025

During July through December 2025, Neste sourced PFAD from 37 supplier refineries. Twenty eight of these refineries are located in Indonesia, five in Malaysia, and four in Thailand. These refineries are displayed in the map below.
